sitting in my lecture today
unbelievably hungover, and feeling like death, and then the lecturer started reading out an excerpt from The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock and it was like a bolt from the blue. it’s one of the most beautiful poems i’ve ever read, and it makes me cry, and i love it more than i can ever explain. and i sat there and i thought ‘yeah, this is why i study english’.
